8 Ways to Stay Motivated this Winter

8 Ways to Stay Motivated this Winter
We are in the middle of November now, and the weather here in Canada is getting way too cold. It's hard to get out of bed, let alone step out of the house! No matter how elite we think we are, or how much of go-getters our team of Livelite Athletes feel, we still need to practice discipline and consistency that helps us during these harsh cold months. Here are some tips and life hacks we put together on staying motivated this winter.
  • Set some objectives.

Setting up new goals and objectives can put you on the right path to become a more disciplined version of yourself.

  • Make a friend your accountability partner.

Getting someone to hold you accountable is extremely helpful because sometimes you lose sight of what keeps you on track, and get distracted from your goals. Making a friend hold you accountable to the goals you set for yourself can help you stay focused and get back to why you started in the first place.

  • If the weather is making you want to stay inside, warm-up inside.

Warming up inside with some jumping jacks or jump rope for a few minutes can work wonders. You can even do your own warmup variation like push-ups, sit-ups or burpees before going out the door. This can elevate your warm-up and pump before you step outside into the cold weather and motivate you during the day.

  • Share your objectives on social media.

Sharing your objectives online can be another way of holding yourself accountable because all of your friends, family and followers already saw your announcement, know what your goals are and will be helping you keep track as well. What better motivation is that?

  • Booking a fitness class

Choosing a fitness class you'd like to attend and setting a time on your calendar, just like an appointment scheduling makes it easier to just show up and stay disciplined. Instead of booking a work appointment, a fun fitness class can be an even more exciting thing to look forward to!

  • Find an inspiring workout location, such as outside or at home.

Going somewhere to workout that inspires you can increase your energy levels and keep you incredibly motivated. A prime example of this would be our founder Elaine Li who works out at Equinox, paying a hefty amount each month which also inspires her to go almost every day.

  • Look for nutritious comfort foods.

Eating healthy and nutrient-dense foods are more impactful than you might think. Having a healthy diet that is sustainable and maintaining it can be life-changing in a fantastic way. The old saying, "you are what you eat", remains true. Try it out for yourself, eat healthy foods every day that are nutritionally high in value and watch your mood, energy levels, and performance quality get better. At Livelite, we care about your performance!

  • Purchasing new gym outfits.
Getting a cute new workout set, or durable and comfortable mens workout shorts, can be so incredibly motivating for anyone to get into the gym and flex the new 'fits. Shopping at Livelite where their brand mission is to become the world's leader in providing comfort, performance, innovative and purposeful athleisure can help lead the way in getting the peak gym gear for whatever workout you need to accomplish at the gym. Have a look for yourself, here.

Use these suggestions to stay motivated during the cold winter months. You'll feel so accomplished and alive after a nice workout that you'll want to do it every day. The trick is to get creative. This winter, whether you're looking for a way to pass the time until spring or you need a way to stay motivated, hopefully we've given you some inspiration!
